The Versatile Blogger Award

Dear Readers,

I'd like to thank Debra from  Granny's Down Home Southern Cooking  for bestowing this honor upon me. Please take a little time and check out some of
the wonderful blogs that have been nominated for this award.

Now to receive this award I must do 7 things:
  1. Thank the Blogger who nominated me.
  2. Include a link to their site.
  3. Include the award image in my post.
  4. Give 7 random facts about myself.
  5. Nominate 15 other bloggers for the award.
  6. When nominating, include a link to their site.
  7. Let the other bloggers know they've been nominated.

Seven Random Facts About Myself:

  1. I am a fairly private person so this is hard.
  2. I like Ugly Dolls.
  3. My favorite book is: Mrs. Dalloway by Virginia Woolf.
  4. I was a clown captain in the Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade.
  5. I road a camel to the Sphinx.
  6. I love Southern Rock from the 1970 - 80's.
  7. I wish I could speak another language, preferably French (cause I really like their food).

I would like to share this award with a group of bloggers who's recipes and or writing about home and happiness have enriched my life. My list of blogs is not in any particular order.

  1. Well thank you Diane! That is really neat you were a clown captain, and you rode a camel to the sphinx! You have some awesome opportunities in your life!
It's never too late to learn french! I took french throughout middle school and high school, but I still don't speak it very well. I could probably get around with the basics though.

    1. I took Spanish and Italian and got both of those languages mixed up. I took a conversational French class in college and loved it. I should have taken it all along.. I think I'll get a pod cast.

  2. Diane, sorry it took me so long to get here. Thanks for including me. I am honored to be included. I have written up 2 recently so, with your permission, I will not answer the questions again. I won't get this done until next week.

    Have a great weekend.

    1. No problem, there seems to be a lot of awarding going around right now.

  3. Congratulations on receiving the Versatile Blogger award! I'm so happy for you - you truly deserve to be recognized!! And thank you so much for nominating me and my blog. I am truly, truly honored.

  4. You are very welcome. I really enjoy your blog and you are extremely supportive to other bloggers... promoting parties etc. Thank you.

  5. Congratulations, Diane, on your being a Versatile Blogger. And, you are. I love reading your variety of Posts, whether it's serious, funny, family or foodie. Regarding a recent serious Post of yours, I hope you've taken the time to read "The ‘Busy’ Trap"
by TIM KREIDER published in the NY Times today. Just what you were discussing in your essay. And, thank you for honoring me with a Versatile Blogger Award. I'm just now getting to reading others' Blogs and so appreciate your giving this to me.

    1. I just read "The Busy Trap" right on the money. I think this busyness is most intense in the NorthEast, especially where I live in and around NYC. I was in Santa Fe once with my sister. She asked a few people what they did for a living. Someone replied to her, "I live for a living." I definitely live in a competitive and insecure place, but it is vibrant!
