Before I left for Blogher I poisoned the dog.
Not intentionally, I gave her a slice of ham from my daughter's lunch box. So in stead of a relaxing morning in New York City I spent it with our dog at the vet.

Our dog Lila recovering from food poisoning |
Three medications, special dog food, and 500 dollars later our dog is recovering well from food poisoning.
I felt so guilty, and I was such a wreck about the whole episode that I forgot to bring my computer to Blogher. I still managed to learn a lot about blogging: in the areas of technical, writing, and marketing.
I met a lot of lovely bloggers and sponsors (who I will tell more about in future posts). I wasn't up for the late night partying, but I did enjoy my hotel room's spacious bathtub and a box (a small box) of Neuhaus chocolates. I doubt that any of you are surprised that it was the simple things that I enjoyed the most.
I didn't splurge and get you all some chocolates, but I think you will find these fun light summer desserts quite satisfying.

DeleteThank you so much for including my Trifle! :-)
ReplyDeleteI know I shouldnt laugh at your poor doggie, but that is some recovery position, the photo is hilarious, poor baby hope a speedy recovery was made ;0)
ReplyDeletePlease go ahead and laugh... it's what keeps us going with this crazy dog. 2 years ago she attacked a porcupine... 3 surgeries to get all the quills out.
DeleteThe Ginger Lime Chicken Salad sounds so good. I can't wait to give it a try.
ReplyDeleteThe drumstick cupcake makes me smile; drumsticks were well-loved treat when we were little. :)
ReplyDeleteMe too. Isn't it a neat idea for a cupcake?
DeleteBummer about your dog! I'm sorry to hear that. But, glad the blogging trip was fun. How did the black bean burgers turn out? I've always wanted to try making my own.. but have yet to find an amazing recipe.
ReplyDeleteThe Black Bean Burgers are good but not amazing. You do need to play with the wet and dry a little.
