| Mexican Style Corn on the Cob |
It still summer to me as long as I see corn on the cob in the grocery store. It is corn time. Time to enjoy this very American grain while it is at it's peak freshness. Corn is a good source of both fiber and minerals. So enjoy the end of summer by cooking up some great corn recipes from our Foodie Friday Parties.

ReplyDeleteI am getting bummed out. We did not plant our own corn, and nobody around here selling it on the side of the road will tell me whether their wares are GMO or not. GMO sweet corn hit the market this summer and there is no labelling requirement. Next year we'll have to grown our own so we can enjoy it more often.

DeleteDiane - a great menu! I bought some "peaches and cream" sweet corn at the market the other day and it was SO good. Headed back on Thursday, hoping they still have some!
ReplyDeleteThanks so much. My market was almost out of fresh corn when I went into it yesterday. This may be the end of the season and the drought made the crop small this year.
