I just found out that my daughter has the same birthday as the food writer Dorie Greenspan. I have been cooking through her, Around My French Table cookbook with an online group.
My daughter has learned so much about baking from both Dorie's Baking with Julia cookbook and from the one that I have been working with these past two years.
So I say Happy Birthday Dorie, you are an inspiration to both me and my daughter.
My daughter turns 12 today and her skills at baking are way beyond her years. I just want to share with you some of the amazing things she has baked for this blog.

Thats wonderful that your son loves to cook, mine used to when he was younger, but I think all 14 year old boys are temporarily more focused on eating. I hope you get Dorie's cookbook, the recipes are amazing. It is a beautiful looking book too.
