Best Baked Goods: Happy Birthday to Dorie Greenspan and My Daughter #Foodie Friday

baker girl: simple living and eating

I just found out that my daughter has the same birthday as the food writer Dorie Greenspan. I have been cooking through her, Around My French Table cookbook with an online group.

My daughter has learned so much about baking from both Dorie's Baking with Julia cookbook and from the one that I have been working with these past two years.

So I say Happy Birthday Dorie, you are an inspiration to both me and my daughter.

little girl big girl: Simple Living and Eating

My daughter turns 12 today and her skills at baking are way beyond her years. I just want to share with you some of the amazing things she has baked for this blog.

Here are some of my daughter's wonderful creations. Many of them are Dorie Greenspan's recipes and some are her own recipes:

Double Chocolate and Banana Tart

Marie-Helene's Apple Cake

Apple Filled Cupcakes

Compost Cookies

Blueberry Mascarpone Roulade

Chocolate Raspberry Cake
Harvest Pie Pops

    1. Thats wonderful that your son loves to cook, mine used to when he was younger, but I think all 14 year old boys are temporarily more focused on eating. I hope you get Dorie's cookbook, the recipes are amazing. It is a beautiful looking book too.
