Rose Lassi #Weekly Menu Plan

Yum
rose lassi- simplelivingeating.com

I just tried a rose flavored lassi for the first time at an Indian restaurant. A lassi is an Indian yogurt shake. I had to try to make a rose one at home. I had a bottle of rose syrup from my attempt to make Ispahan Loaf Cake.

Flavoring drinks and baked goods with rose is not uncommon in the Middle East, Indian and parts of the Mediterranean.

For us in the US it is such an usual but pleasing flavor. I found this drink to be exotic and refreshing on a hot summer afternoon.

  1. I love seeing how people are using up that infamous bottle of rose syrup. Which reminds me that I need to keep plugging away at my bottle...

    1. I guess this is an inside FFWD joke. Remember it makes a great cocktail mixer. I'm so glad I didn't spend a lot on buying it. I can't get over the price between what I paid in a Middle Eastern Deli and the gourment store cost.

  2. This sounds really good…and looks so pretty! I was surprised to see yogurt as an ingredient. Interesting! I made my own rose syrup, however I still have a big bottle to use. I mix mine with seltzer or sparkling water…it’s really good and quite refreshing!

    1. It's great with vodka too... but the yogurt is more nutritious.

  3. I wonder how well the syrup pairs with good n. One of my favorite bars makes a mean lavender Collins.
